Dual Degree Instructional Technology Postgraduate Program of UNY with NCU Taiwan

Instructional Technology Postgraduate Program of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) again sends students to attend the Dual Degree program at the Graduate Institute of Network Learning Technology, National Central University (GINLT NCU). In the program, students take 23 credit points with details of 12 credits in semester 1 and 11 credits in semester 2 in the first year at UNY. In the second year, students carry out lectures at GINLT NCU, Taiwan and must take credit at least 9 credits (3 courses) in semester 3. Furthermore, students complete thesis research in semester 4 with 6 credits.

There are 4 students who qualify in this program who are 3rd-semester students. The student departed on September 1, 2018, and began attending classes on September 10, 2018.

One of the students who took part in the Dual Degree program was Ayu Nuswantari. She claimed to join the Dual Degree program because there was an opportunity and wanted to expand knowledge. Ayu wanted to try to see from a variety of educational perspectives because all this time she is studying in the country. Ayu wanted to see from a variety of glasses to increase knowledge and experience to develop themselves. Ayu also said that the Dual Degree program was an opportunity that she would not necessarily get again, and therefore she was determined not to waste that opportunity.

Another student is Cinthya Indrastyawati. She claimed to join the Dual Degree program because she wanted to add experience, knowledge in daily life abroad and the difference with Indonesia. They hope that going to school abroad does not make them forget about their homeland and can return to provide positive things for education in Indonesia.

Ayu and Cinthya gave tips for joining the Dual Degree program, the first is learning and praying. Trying to get used to time management because the culture there is all too timely and efficient. The second is just be sure. "You have to be sure of your choice and don't stop halfway. Complete your responsibilities. If you want to register it is good that you already have savings, and already have good work experience so that you too can be proud of your results without burdening your parents. Be brave, be wise, and work hard. The harder you work the luckier you are. "

Graduates of the Dual Degree Master Program will obtain two degrees, M.Pd. from UNY and M.Sc. from NCU. Graduates will have competencies as instructional designers, multimedia developers, e-learning developers, learning resource managers, and trainers & researchers in the area of ​​learning technology with an international perspective.(Frenky)
